Ancient City Gate of Hierapolis in Turkey

Agora of Hierapolis

Address: Adrianou Street, 24, 105 55, Athens, Greece.

The Agora of Hierapolis was the vibrant commercial and social center of the ancient city, located in modern-day Turkey. Dating back to the 2nd century AD, this vast marketplace was surrounded by colonnaded porticos and bustling shops, serving as the hub of trade and public life. Earthquakes have left it partially ruined, but the remains, including columns, gateways, and stone pavements, highlight the grandeur of Roman-era architecture. The Agora’s proximity to the city’s famous hot springs and theaters makes it a key historical and cultural landmark.
